Pros

Work from home 3-4 days a weeks

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!

Pros

great training/onboarding program. They really try to set you up for success with the product and spend a lot of time teaching you how to effectively use it so when you get in front of clients you know what you're doing Nice work travel budget Easy to get integrated into company culture. They have a lot of BRG's you can try to get into and each office generally hosts events that bring people together

Cons

Managers are young and generally incompetent, because of this it feels like high school 2.0. Managers are also unable to provide coaching or personal development, but are extremely opinionated even though they are unable (or unwilling) to work with their reports. Gossip spreads exceedingly fast and far at the firm (others in my office were publicly reprimanded for openly and widely spreading rumors within our own office). The managers generally have negative opinions and are not afraid to speak out negatively, this tied with the propensity for spreading gossip leads to an almost tense and strained relationship between different levels of management. Poor work life balance, almost no teamwork culture so everyone is trying to succeed individually, even if it comes at the expense of their own teammate. Everyone will say they love the work life balance, but if you are not completely bought into the culture its pretty toxic. The majority of employees have only ever worked at FactSet and have no other job experience, and this directly affects the dialogue around the firm and people's mindsets in their role. Incompetence of management cannot be understated. Most managers would rather take control and do everything themself rather than teach their reports, or they are so completely out of touch with the product that they are unable to offer meaningful insight or help. Some managers are also unable to regulate themselves effectively, which leads to a myriad of weird and unprofessional experiences.
