Pros

Work/life balance. Free lunch. Very relaxed work environment. Nice place to work for over a short period of time. Colleagues are usually very soft-spoken and sociable people. Some of the new product enhancements are exciting and challenging (Unfortunately you must be in the states to be able to work on and be part of these)

Cons

It is possible that you could end up in a team where there is not a lot of chance for learning and progressing in your career. Changing teams is practically impossible. FactSet prefers to recruit graduates (at least in the engineering side) which is good in some cases but this is leaving FactSet behind in terms of gaining fresh perspectives and best practices. During my 3 year tenure at FactSet, the graduate to experienced hire ratio is something like 20:1 (or even worse). People usually get promoted based on how long they are in the company. Tech stack is pretty much pre-defined. It is very unlikely that they will be willing to adopt any new and happening technologies.

Pros

Work from home 3-4 days a weeks

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!
