Pros

Benefits: including stock purchase plan, 401k full match, good health insurance, flexible spending accounts Culture: a very social company with an open door policy Free food: free lunch and constant snacks and drinks in the office Growing company: Has tripled in size in 5 years, so there is lots of room for advancement Tuition reimbursement: I've taken several classes at no cost Continuing education: I am encouraged to attend conferences or classes CFA support: You can get up to $15k bonus for completing the CFA certification Travel: With the company I have been around the world and seen things I wouldn't have had the chance to otherwise

Cons

The company has grown so fast it hasn't always evolved from the small company approach to a bigger company. For many areas, that's a good thing, but it poses a problem in communication. The trickle down approach may have been good when there were 75 people here, but it doesn't work well when you have nearly 2,000 employees. I don't think Norwalk is a bad town, but the cost of living is very high for the actual amenities you get from living here. However, it's convenient to both New York City and Boston, and the salaries cover the higher living costs.

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!
