Pros

-Excellent work/life balance. Flexible working hours and WFH is generally accepted. -Friendly work culture -Free lunch Monday-Thursday. -Good benefits package.

Cons

-Weak software engineering standards at an organizational level. Most engineers don't write tests and aren't required to either. Documentation is very poor/nonexistent. Shortcuts are commonly taken to meet deadlines. -General preference to develop tools inhouse when better third party tools already exist. These inhouse tools are generally poorly maintained. -Large legacy code base with outdated technologies -General lack of innovation. Most of the work seems to be focused on maintaining or making improvements to existing products. -Pay is average

Work from home 3-4 days a weeks

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!
