Pros

I have made many good friends here at Factset. At a personal level, people are friendly, everybody is laid back. We get a free lunch from Monday to Thursday. Flexible hours for software engineer as long as we can get our work done before a deadline. There are many good in-house software tools to speed up development. I didn't get much pressure from my manager. The pay is average in an exchange of the best work-life-balance. I can call vacation anytime because there is no such a crunch time at this place.

Cons

This place can be boring especially for someone who cares their works or want to learn. There are many interesting projects but nobody seems to care to put it together. There is no system to support people who are helping others or develop a new hire. Sadly, there are too many level organization hierarchy and many try too hard to bubble up the chain. Those who plays their games will be noticed but not those who focus too much on their works. As a result, many people learned to do just enough work to keep their jobs. Some were like zombies doing minimum work and waiting for a paycheck or preparing for the next job interview.

Pros

Work from home 3-4 days a weeks

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!
