Pros

* Good benefits: 401k, healthcare, free lunch four days a week. * Good location in Midtown. * Quiet office. You get your own cubicle with lots of space. * The technology stack, while antiquated in some areas, is very well organized.

Cons

* The work gets boring very fast. There is often not enough work to do. You will see people surfing the web most of the day. * The office environment is very awkward. Everyone is separated into cubicles, with managers in offices far away. You rarely interact with your co-workers. I've gone days without speaking to anyone. Collaboration with your team is minimal. Everyone is given their own project and sent to work on it by themselves. * Don't expect to be challenged here. After one year, I had only ever worked on one project. * Working harder/faster gets you no where. All that ends up happening is you'll have lots of free time to sit around doing nothing. * Year end bonus is zero.

Pros

Work from home 3-4 days a weeks

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!
