RACISM AT FACTSET - Sales FactSet Employee Review

Pros

Autonomy and flexibility on SOME teams. If you're on a team where the majority of your peers started at FactSet as consultants then they'll most likely still embody the great "FactSet culture" that people claim still exists at FactSet. FactSet USED TO hire primarily from within so they were able to maintain the great working culture for a long time. Since FactSet is becoming a bigger company, they started to recruit externally and this has led to inconsistent culture across different teams.

Cons

Go to Twitter, search for "FactSet" and scroll down to June 5, 2020 and see for yourself how in less than 24 hours FactSet claimed their employee's Twitter account was "hacked" (a software engineer... hacked?!?! REALLY?!?!). This DESPICABLE RACIST behavior and FactSet's response is UNACCEPTABLE. This incident happened ONE DAY AFTER an global company meeting was held on June 4, 2020 where the CEO seemed authentic about supporting Black Lives Matter. Clearly black lives are not valued to the CEO/FactSet.

FactSet Response
6y
In early June, one of our employee’s social media account was hijacked with the intent to spread a heinous message through the impersonation of another. After an investigation, we have confirmed that these messages are not our employee’s. FactSet condemns the content of these messages in the strongest possible terms. The content is utterly inconsistent with our inclusive culture and values.

Pros

Work from home 3-4 days a weeks

Cons

Senior Management is Akin to a Sorority or Fraternity. They are treated exceptionally well and are shameless in their pursuits of recognition. Forced socialization - whether or not you participate in company events is part of your performance reviews. It's not enough to be a friendly, helpful coworker DEI Disgrace - millions and millions of dollars spent on making sure the wrong people are in the wrong job. But hey, they're the right ethnicity! Forced volunteering - another part of your annual review. They give you time off to volunteer at a company-sponsored event. But if you are the type who likes to just do your job, go home, and find life's satisfaction elsewhere, don't join Factset!
