Pros

This is a good organization to work at if you have no experience and just coming out of college and need "experience". You will definitely get the experience you are looking for with at the responsibilities you will be given that are somehow part of your job because in the description of your job duties there will be the statement "and other duties assigned".

Cons

There is no organization within any of the programs. There is no leadership, you are on your own. Management does not care about your career goals or developing you. They will put a lot of pressure on you and try to pay you minimal. It is extremely difficult to get a raise. It does not matter how hard you work because that does not mean anything, you will not get rewarded for it. You are going to be on your own because there is a lack of management and leadership. There is no sense of community in this organization. If you get on the wrong side of management prepare to quit, because they will pressure you to quit.

I don't think making a blanket statement about the organizations of any of the programs is appropriate. I don't know when you worked for FSA but we have been able to give pay increases the past two years and we are always looking at the budgets to see if we can provide increases. As far as training goes we are definitely looking at that in our mental health programs. We have plenty of training available and we need to make sure that is being conveyed to staff.

Pros

No point system for absences

Cons

lazy coworkers, favoritism, teacher's pet, extremely high turnover, if you work full-time Monday - Friday you will be expected to work on the weekend as well if they are short staffed and there is no extra pay incentive for working extra hours on the weekend, no extra pay incentive for being on call, monkey see monkey do, schedule is all over the place because of constantly being short staffed and people calling off, new hires don't always know what to do because the little bit of training that you get is horrible, there is no book telling you what to do in some situations, you deal with all kinds of people meaning that you will come across people with severe mental health issues which you are not trained in dealing with, I have seen staff lie on reports in order to accommodate for grants, they do not properly screen for the programs they offer and as a result people fall under the radar and some people receive help that they should not because technically they do not qualify... to be continued
