Pros

1) One of the strongest pros of this company are the researchers that work at the lower level (SRA's to senior scientist level). I have worked in several places and these people are hands down one of the smartest and collaborative people I have met. If you ask something, they will pause and explain things to you without hesitation. 2) iPSC platform is very strong 3) Many candidate products in IND and clinical trial phase.

Cons

Do not be fooled by the amazing stars this company has, these are from all the old reviews when this company used to be an amazing place to work, top to bottom. Now, this place has turned into one of the most toxic places to work. 1) The problem starts with mid-level managers (starting from Principle scientist and goes all the way to the top). They are no smart or have better vision than senior scientists thus play "hunger games" style mindset for their own benefit. Do not think about work-life balance. There is none. 2) The Chief Research and Development Officer used to give pragmatic view of the company previously, but now a days starts meetings in a negative tone by trashing competitive companies because he thinks they are catching up soon and seems to be frustrated. 3) Managers hire new people not because there are new projects but because other manager hired new people and they want to use new hiring as "a trophy". Too many people and less projects means infighting between the researchers. 4) They have many candidates in clinical trial means the PD and manufacturing teams should be well resourced, but most of the resources go to R&D. I do not think clinical trials will move smoothly with the current structure. I heard recently that almost 1/3rd of people quit from one team within Fate. Imagine, how toxic the environment must have been for that bulk exit to happen. 5) The culture and HR team just cozies to the CEO, never expect them to take care of your rights or needs. 6) There is almost non existence of upward growth. They have no plans or structure to support it. Cross collaboration is also not present. Scientists are friendly and exchange ideas and data on an individual level but there is no formal structure to support it.

Pros

Pay is great, most people are fun to be around. Has gotten better over the last year with the culture in the office.

Cons

Leadership choices can be awful and no outside life. I generally can say most people spend their time at work.
