Pros

Doesn't look terrible on your resume'

Cons

• Insane amount of responsibilities for the rather meager pay. By comparison I work at another company's retail store now, have about 1/3rd the responsibilities, and make $1.10 an hour more. Also, I don't have to physically make the company's products, aggressively accost customers, or be an on-site technician for the printers and other technology customers use and break every day. • Always understaffed. For example when I quit my store's manager also quit and they still haven't replaced her going on half a year later. Imagine being one of the people still working there and dealing with all of the responsibilities of a manager but for no extra pay. • Terrible work/life balance. So for example I constantly would be forced to close one day and open the next. Probably the most egregious experience was the day I was forced to work from 7 am to 9 pm and I was the only one there so I got zero breaks (not even a lunch) the entire time. • Useless tuition program. Why even have a tuition program if no one has access to it? • Technology is extremely dated and absurdly complex. Think a Windows 95 user interface and extremely slow DSL connections. It was so funny because the store's server had a t1 connection but for some insane reason we had to use the worst DSL possible for the computers we had access to. • Management, and by proxy you, will often have no idea how to use the company's software in no small part due to inadequate training. You will be forced to console Karen-tier customers while having no idea how to get their very specific request for their order to be input into the system. Then when you try to download the guide for that specific part of the software it literally takes 20+ minutes to download because, again, super garbage DSL. • 10 minute breaks (which you often won't get) and unpaid 30 minute lunches. I genuinely don't know how they get away with the whole zero breaks thing. • Upper management has no regard for anything other than the bottom line. One time I witnessed upper management send a guy to our store for the sole purpose of threatening our manager with making sure we were following proper cyber security protocols. They didn't explain why he was coming before he visited the store though, and our manager thought she was getting fired all the way up until half way through his meeting with her. I personally watched her uncontrollably sobbing while talking to him in her own office. • I don't know what else to write but I would highly encourage you to seriously consider not working for Fed-Ex Office. You deserve so much better.
