pays better than other govt jobs. first couple years can be good, depending on your manager. Take advantage of any training benefits that you can, so you can stay competitive in your field

no resources for tech or IT people - treat this job as your way to retire, or get out after 5 years and find something better. Promotion is all about tenure and politics - not sure why you would want to bother with that anyway. Mismanagement means that time and money gets wasted. Benefits are not as competitive anymore with the industry. Changes across all of govt have also really affected this place - lack of culture as an example
