Pros

I thiink that Ferguson is a good place to work for type-A personalities and driven individuals. Many of the pro's are also the cons however. The benefits are good, opportunities to grow are good and the work environment is good. The people are among the best I've worked with too. Local managment is strong but corporate is clueless and will lose a dollar to save a dime. All in all, I am happy with the company and enjoy working for it.

Cons

While I think the company is a great one to work for, corporate has lost touch with what made us the leader in the industry we are. I disagree with the people on here complaining about the long hours and focus on sales. First and foremost we are a sales organization and the managment is there just as long as sales. I do get frustrated with the sales talk and they we spend millions on a rediculous program to create customer loyalty. We are supposed to complete these webcast on stupid simple things that take hours to do on our own dime. I don't know what genius thought this up but they are an example of what is wrong with Ferguson at this time. I also do not like the bonus program. It has outlived its days.

Pros

None, I would say remote work but it’s very toxic.

Cons

Poor leadership (manager and director), poor communication, poor training, unrealistic m expectations, micromanagement, no SOPs, lack of structure, FLSA violations, no upfront disclosure of what role is, stingy management. People outside of HR are great. In HR? They’re happy to lay people off and talk about it so casually during meetings. Think “it’s our yearly layoffs” and joking about catching people “slipping”. No opportunities for growth despite saying there was during interviews. Interview and reality are worlds apart. No diversity. Severe control issues. No new people have been hired in over 3 years yet multiple people have left so people are burnout. One person handles all of one process alone and management thinks that’s ok. For reference the same process takes 10-11 associates in the same sized org. I can go on. Stay away!!!
