Pros

Growth opportunities available for those willing and able to commit the time and energy. Banking industry provides a wide variety of educational and occupational experiences and there seems to always be vacant positions available, either in the contact centers (Grand Rapids MI and Cincinnati, OH) or at any one of their 1300 branch locations across the mid-west. Salary and benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, 401-k, tuition reimbursement, etc are par-w/the industry. Work-life balance is appropriate for the nature of the industry and workload is highly dependent upon seasonal volume.

Cons

Many people find it difficult to advance their careers in a highly-bureaucratic environment. In order to take advantage of the many career opportunities at 5/3 you must be proactive and comfortable networking. While this is not necessarily a con, it is a warning to those who are considering the prospects of seeking out employment with this company but have a passive attitude about their career paths and are either unwilling or do not feel it is necessary to proactively network.
