Pros

Fiksu represents a great environment. People are friendly, hard-working, and conscientious. The work is interesting, and there is a genuine ability to grow your career while maintaining a positive work/life balance. Perks are considerable, the money is good, and the location in Back Bay is great. Fiksu feels like a mature start-up environment that has taken its knocks but is still trying.

Cons

Fiksu has seen some bumps in redefining itself over the last year, and it has been unfortunate to lose many wonderful people. This has signaled a lot of soul-searching and change across the whole company (not all bad, mind you.)

Cons

The only thing more impressive than CEO Micah Adler's ego is his inability to run a successful company. What started out as a great pivot into mobile ad tech quickly became a playbook on how to make bad decisions. Despite having first mover advantage and a phenomenal front-line team, he singlehandedly managed to drive the company into the ground. To make matters worse, when he was offered a lifeline exit for significantly more than the company was worth, he refused to even enter discussions in an attempt to prove a point that he could have a larger exit than the previous companies he co-founded and was forcefully removed from because the boards determined he was incompetent. While everyone has their shortcomings, it became clear over the years that Micah took pleasure in negatively impacting the lives of those around him if it was to his gain, and he has consistently shown absolutely zero regard for anyone but himself. If, after reading this, you somehow choose to work for him, please feel free to respond in a couple years to validate this review and help others avoid the same mistake many others have already unfortunately made. I have worked with hundreds of CEO's in my career and can say without a doubt that Micah Adler is the absolute worst I have encountered in both competency and character and this is in no way a claim I would ever make lightly or consider stating "publicly" about anyone but him. Proceed at your own risk.
