Pros
They are really big on internal promotion, to the point where some positions, like Area Manager, are generally not open to outside applicants. Good internal upward mobility.
Cons
The pay is awful, compared to comparable positions. I am a store manager for their store-within-a-store concept at Macys. Even after a significant pay raise, along with over 5 years of tenure, I still make less than every other manager in that building.
