Pros

- There are some smart, capable people who are trying to do the right things. - Flexibility exists on paper - If you can manage to keep your head down/don't rock the boat, you can definitely coast for a while - They allow remote work on the technical side

Cons

TLDR, if you are a person that takes pride in their work and cares you won't survive here. - Strong "drink the Koolaid" culture. Any dissent, skepticism, or raising real risks is discouraged (and even punished) - Lots of red flags in leadership decisions: - Priorities shift constantly; strategy feels very reactive - Accountability is non-existent - Bragging about understaffing projects to get more productivity - Silent layoffs, people just vanish sometimes - Retaliation is a real thing here - The top-down pressure and project pace is absurd, the expectation is that you just absorb it but it comes at a cost; org morale is low, burnout is high. - Office politics aplenty, communication is often more about how you spin things than the content or reality - Because of the artificially short, self-imposed deadlines and being asked to work weekends and nights to try and wring more oil out of us there is a culture where you feel like you are always behind and are unable to take a breather or vacation

Pros

Building an entirely new platform as part of a digital modernization along with related applications that serve areas of the business where there is either redundancy or solutions created as an afterthought that don't fit an enterprise model. Exciting yet challenging. Excellent opportunity for career advancement if your leadership style and experience align with the culture.

Cons

Supporting existing business solutions and trying to iterate towards the desired modern vision can be a hard sell to some. Very challenging code base and difficult to move beyond cloud 1.0 with mostly virtual machines hosting workloads.
