Pros
The company mission is very easy to get behind - “Coaching those who serve in their pursuit of financial security.” The campus is beautiful. My coworkers are friendly and diverse. I enjoy growing and learning. First Command has provided ample challenges and rewards to compliment my personal development. The compensation structure is different here and I like it. A big part of First Command's investment philosophy addresses financial habits. The compensation structure here is the words in action: the benefits package emphasis saving for the future and encouraging responsible choices. The rewards are great for those that stay the course.
Cons
Career tracks have not always been clear, but something always seemed to develop that continued my growth. Deliberately developing leadership and management skills has also been underserved. Some decisions seem political and the communication around them spurs negative speculation from time to time. That being said, in the past year there have been some concrete steps toward remedying these items.
