Pros

Honestly I love my job at First Place. Especially during COVID, it has been great to have the flexibility to set all my own meetings and work mostly from home. Pay is good and I get a decent amount of PTO - I'm taking a two week trip to Europe this year, as well as several shorter trips. Management is always open to trying new things when possible. It is also a very diverse environment and very LGBTQ-inclusive. But the best part about this job is that you really do have the power and resources to make a difference (including extra funding for things like youth transportation, school supplies, and even birthday gifts).

Cons

Because this company relies heavily on data, you can be "punished" for youth not meeting their goals. You won't be fired, but you might get a smaller yearly raise. Documentation is tedious (but not any worse than similar jobs). While you do get free supervision, my supervisor is an LPC and there is a waitlist for LCSWs so I may have to pay for a few external sessions.

Cons

Workload - understaffed in some departments, but a lot of thought going into improving this con Pay - it is non-profit pay so none of us are here gettin' rich :) the work is very fulfilling regardless
