Pros

The training at First Student was unpaid, but really good. It included classroom sessions to help pass the four CDL tests (School Bus, Air Brake, CDL and Passenger). Then they provided the medical exam, a initial lot course on how to drive and then 20 hours of behind the wheel on the road. The DVS testing was done by their instructors also. It was pretty seamless to get a class B. You can work morning and afternoon or either. Pay is deposited electronically and their are some performance bonuses offered and opportunities to earn extra money with charters. The co-workers are fun to get to know. There were often treats shared in the break area.

Cons

The big one is no benefits are offered, but this is not uncommon. Many of the full-time drivers were enrolled in MNcare (Obamacare) at reasonable rates. The salaries are OK to start, but there are not any great cost of living increases annually.
