Pros
There are some really good people in certain branches and the immediate team was wonderful. Able to create some new business practices. Credit culture is excellent for good deals but getting through the process takes a lot of patience and time. The clients tend to be higher quality but also demanding. The bank is growing.
Cons
The bank has tried to instill a sales culture, but it is lacking support from the top. Compensation is below average, bonus comp is overly complicated and constantly changes, and no award trips. Over time, lost trust in top management as they don't really care about the people, their core principles are not actually followed, and its ultimately run by just one person - the founder. He surrounds himself with loyalists on the board as well as the top jobs who are yes men/women. Went through a number of HR directors - that says a lot. The CEO never took the time to meet with clients or employees - flies at 30,000ft but doesn't really know what's going on on the ground. The best people leave for more than one reason. Think hard about that before joining.
