Pros
Meet some very bright and intelligent people. All end up leaving. Market is begging for updated products based on old offerings. Company has the money to support the R&D for those product. Unfortunately for the division I worked with nothing gets done.
Cons
Politics rule the day. Brought in to design the platform of the future for a suite of products. The legacy folks threw up road blocks at every turn. The division ends up paralyzed as leadership doesn't want to upset anyone. Eventually new leadership is brought in and within 18 months is let go because they can't get anything accomplished. While I was there went through 2 Presidents, 2 EVPs, 3 Directors, and 2 Managers. Just heard the last of Director was let go.
