If you’re new to any job, there’s time to learn and improving should be continuous and encouraged. Instead at this business, many of the employees have been there for 5-10 years and don’t take so kindly to new-comers. Instead of ethically sharing in the training of newer employees, they would rather tell the employer they prefer not to work with the new guy because he does not work as fast - so there’s not much time to learn, no way to improve without guidance from others, and there’s no encouragement or motivation to be as good as anyone else who has put in their time.
