Pros

Benefits are great for paralegals! 3 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick time, 12 holidays, generous fully vested 401K contribution after 1 year, weekly paycheck Treadmill workstations, work-out room in the building, fancy espresso machine Overtime is a rare occurrence.

Cons

There is stiff competition to move beyond the patent paralegal position. A patent paralegal starts as an entry-level paralegal and typically handles one to three tasks in volume such as information disclosure statements, office action shells, or obtaining signatures from inventors. An open-office environment means that conversations can be heard by others. Four paralegal pods are made of two parallel tables with a short divider splitting each table into two work stations Working remotely is currently granted specifically for each occurrence
