Pros
Cool office, nice perks. Roof deck and lounge was a nice break from the usual cubicle setup. Free beer and frequent free food was a good motivator. Some great people, but better dogs. Fantastic business model.
Cons
Once you're at the Director level, you can do no wrong. With few exceptions, most people at that level weren't that smart. They heard an idea a few years ago and that's all they want to do. Despite the rapid pace in which the retail environment moves, department leadership and senior company leadership refuse to be agile and be flexible. People preach about "building new muscle" and "adapting to business need" but in reality a lot of the problems that the corporate office experiences (and by extension, the rest of the company) could be solved by them being flexible and learning to do new things.
