Pros

- My manager (female, left same time) - Mentoring summer interns - Grassroots-led ERGs

Cons

Where do I even begin... - Extremely rude and non-collaborative coworkers/teammates - Bullies everywhere: Multiple people made me cry, I was mansplained to constantly, and then leadership sides with and promotes the bully! - Way too sales-driven and product has no actual ownership - Did not feel part of a team as there was no investment/support from senior leadership and an entire summer with no team meeting? - No functioning product analytics, design, or marketing team - Little formal onboarding/training for some teams' new hires - Slackers frequently taking credit for others' ideas/work - Insane amount of red tape/office politics: Nothing gets done at Five9 - My role should've been renamed to "Babysitter: Gather receipts & make sure people read their emails" - No race diversity and little gender diversity on exec team - 2 years in a row HR said "we will look at giving everyone Juneteenth off" but doesn't actually take action - Very adverse to change and to become a more modern tech company - Everything has gone even more downhill since failed Zoom acquisition - Underpaid compared to tech market (HQ is in East Bay and not SF/SV) - Taken advantage of and no appreciation/recognition for those who actually work hard The cherry on top of was the behavior exhibited in-person at CX Summit 2022 in Las Vegas. - Top sales bully disrespecting me and my partners multiple times - Inappropriate sexual behavior towards younger employees - Spotlighting a white male exec on the Day 1, main stage Women-in-Tech panel with no explanation (woohoo a story about his mom who doesn't work for the company!) - During the WiT panel Five9 suggested to "offer a mommy makeover" as a way to help women? And this public company is still reposting on LinkedIn the panel's artistic drawing where an attendee blatantly questioned this "surgically change your body for the workforce" sentiment and point-blank asked "is this the answer?" - Later finding out our CMO (1 of 2 females on exec team) wanted a "token male" on the panel because in tech usually there's a "token female" - Hearing that some people thought it was "entertaining" they put a "token male" on the WiT panel (as if there are not 100s of strong women whose voices they could've elevated) - Still not addressing the absolute Women-in-Tech blunder internally or externally 1+ month after getting back from the event While I understand every individual has their own experience, mine was rock-bottom terrible. This job greatly affected my mental health. I gave specific feedback for 1+ year and was told every time "that's just the way it is." I have no idea how this company has a 4.6 rating - I'm convinced most of these 5-star reviews and "Best Places to Work" awards are completely fake.

Pros

Not a single pro, this company is awful

Cons

- Leadership promotes their boys club buddies that severely lack leadership skills - The product sucks. It's nowhere near industry standard - The culture is HORRIBLE. Very much sink or swim, no support, zero engagement with other employees unless you suck up to them or are in the office - Mid Market "RVP" leaders are some of the worst Ive ever seen. If you dont go to them to appease their ego for every little thing, they will "manage" you out - SKO was the worst broke company efforts Ive ever seen. Shouldnt have had one, this company is embarrassing. The public speakers and corny jokes were the most cringe thing Ive ever witnessed, Ive never felt more demotivated in my life - Boys club culture to the fullest, if you dont stroke everyones ego, you're out Stay far away from this company. Go to a real CX/UC company. FIve9 is begging for acquisition and no one will take them. The system is old and ugly. Run from this org. Don't bother.
