Pros
The culture at Five9 is the best I’ve ever experienced in my career. People work hard, management lets you do what you need to get the job done. Yearly meetups since the majority of the company is remote work. Pay is top of the range for similar positions with other companies, and benefits aren’t bad.
Cons
The tech stack is quickly becoming outdated. Five9’s mostly a monolith product with a few data centers globally. Migration to the cloud has been an ongoing project since I first started 6 years ago. Five9 tends to buy up companies and use the technology. However, the tech is not integrated seamlessly, but rather “plugged into”. This makes working with the entire platform for a single call flow extremely challenging. With the ability to work on other platforms, your knowledge in everything with call centers is a must or you will fall behind very quickly. The push towards “AI” is a mess with multiple add-ons to the platform being added weekly as half baked products that provide minimal value.
