Pros

-$8.5 per hour on weekdays, get an extra $2.25 per hour on weekends(part-time employees), I believe it's $10 per hour for full time (full time also get time and a half on sundays). -get moved around to different departments, instead of just cashiering the whole time (if you are a cashier). This allows you to gain experience in other skills, in the world of retail. -can get status transferred to other departments after working there for 1 to 3 months usually -co-workers are all great to work with, and make great friends. -most of the time, work load is manageable

Cons

-can only get a $0.4 raise every year (for part-time) -get shifts to work in other departments, without your consent -point system, once you get 12 points, you automatically get fired (1 point for being late by less than 15 minutes, 2 for anything over 15 minutes, 3 for missing a shift because of an appt you forgot to tell management about, and 4 for a no show without calling, and every 2 consecutive calender months you will lose a point, the month that you got the point in does not count towards the consecutive months) -no employee discount (you do get a discount on work clothes though, black shoes, and black pants) -can't work more than 27 hours a week -3 week notice just to take a day off. -stupid lines that you are required to say to every customer when cashiering -required to greet every customer and ask them if they want help, even if they clearly don't need help, or have not even acknowledged your presence.

Pros

Management was very nice. Fun environment to work in. Great scheduling.

Cons

Not very many cons at all. Maybe that some days we were short of staff in the back and had overloads of work to do and not enough time.

Pros

There's a lot to learn, and working as a service writer helped me develop skills and aquire knowledge. I learned about everything from tires and oil filters to POS and inventory systems, warehousing, customer service, and the auto parts industry.

Cons

There is no end to the amount of hard work, and it'll break down someone's body in time. My spine started compressing from carrying tires, I injured my ankle and it never had a chance to heal properly, so I still have pain up to this day. If you're not 100% on time there's a real chance you will be fired, no matter how long you've worked there. I think there's a 3 minute window to punch in late, and that's it. After 3 late punch ins you're toast. Customers are always angry there because fleet farm doesn't have what they need even though they had it last time they were there. It's typical to see customer service being abused. In fact, I was verbally assaulted by an irate customer and was threatened and intimidated, and management did not back me up, which led to my resignation.
