Pros

This place used to be really great. Genuinely one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. Decent pay and benefits, everyone seemed to have the common goal of making the product the best it could be.

Cons

This place has been destroyed by incompetence and borderline unethical middle management practices. You’ll be given a review where your performance is “approaching expectations” but off the record you’ll be told “not to worry about it” because “everyone’s first review after a promotion is approaching expectations”. If you are passionate about your work and you stand up for yourself when you’re told to use AI to do the core function of your job, you’ll be placed on a PIP with no previous warning. Management will cite the review as a basis for this, then bend inaccurate data to fit their narrative. If you question the accuracy of the data being used against you, you’ll be terminated the following day, before the PIP has even concluded, despite actively working to complete the tasks outlined within.

Pros

Very functional scale-up. We are well-resourced in regards to the tech stack and my team is given quite a bit of autonomy to execute our tasks. The role is flexible and duties challenging but reasonable. Great company culture, good cross-team collab happens all the time.

Cons

Sometimes Product iterates so fast that new features get launched before we're made aware of it or trained on them. It's a "good" problem to have I suppose, all things considered. Just inconvenient and awkward when the customer asks about it on a live call and we have no idea what they're talking about.

Pros

I truly love the work I get to do every day at Fleetio. The people are genuinely kind, smart, and helpful. There’s strong flexibility and trust with work-life balance. Fleetio also feels like it’s in a really exciting stage. It’s beyond the early startup days, but there’s still plenty of runway to help scale the business, work on special projects, and have a real impact. I’ve also appreciated the amount of autonomy in my role. I’m given a clear target, but I have the space to determine the best way to get there.

Cons

Indicative of a lot of tech companies, the pace may not be for everyone. Priorities can shift at times, so you do have to be flexible and on board with doing what's best for the business, even if it means switching gears and going in a different direction at times.
