Pros
Fleetio is such a breath of fresh air. I've worked here just under six months, and things just keep getting better. The management team is committed to creating a positive culture by hiring intelligent, driven, and kind people and treating them well. Tony and the rest of the management team are super transparent, creating a strong buy-in among employees. One of the best things about working at Fleetio is the level of ownership I have over my projects. As a person in a creative role, I'm used to a lot of hovering and second-guessing from past supervisors. Here, I don't feel micromanaged. My supervisors trust my judgement, they are super supportive, and they provide truly valuable feedback. They are well-skilled in the field, and I feel like I'm actually learning things here each day. I also really enjoy being able to work remotely when I need to. The flexibility and level of trust is such a great bonus to an already great experience. That said, working in HQ is awesome. It's a high energy environment is really enjoyable. Also, the snacks are great. :) I feel very lucky to work at Fleetio. Working around smart people is great, and it keeps me on my A game, but I think the real magic here is the buy-in from the top down. We're all working towards a common goal, and everyone is genuinely excited to work together. It's really great.
Cons
If you aren't used to it, this level of freedom can be intimidating at first. I got over it quickly, but it's just a strange thing to come into a place where people immediately trust your capabilities. Don't get me wrong, you're supported and the onboarding process is really thorough, but no one is holding your hand. There's a safety net, but they expect you to be able to come in and perform well. I know that's not really a con, but I genuinely don't have anything negative to say.
