Pros

My recent promotion reflected consistent engineering ownership and long‑term impact rather than short‑term wins. At Flexera, engineers are trusted to own complex, enterprise‑scale systems end‑to‑end—design, reliability, and production outcomes. There is real accountability, space to influence architectural decisions, and recognition for those who raise engineering quality and support others.

Cons

Some legacy processes and cross‑team dependencies can slow execution.

Congratulations on your promotion and thank you for this feedback. Consistent ownership, long-term impact, and raising the bar for others is exactly what we want to recognize and reward. Your points on legacy processes and the need for clearer senior technical growth expectations are well taken. These are conversations we are actively having, and your perspective helps move them forward.

Pros

I am part of an amazing team at Flexera and I love what I do! The peace of mind and flexibility the company offers, I have not seen it anywhere else! I am valued and empowered in the work I do and my contributions I bring to the table.

Cons

Lack of training programs, mentoring, or clear pathways for internal promotion.

Pros

Good remote working options are available

Cons

Direct leadership frequently used 1:1 meetings to discuss personal matters rather than tracking project timelines, yet would later blame subordinates when timelines slipped. It was an incredibly uncomfortable environment where it felt impossible to succeed. Good ideas would be implemented and well-received by others, but direct management would find something negative to focus on, like claiming it took too long Communication from direct management was passive-aggressive and often crossed professional boundaries. The language used in team settings was frequently inappropriate, including the use of highly offensive, derogatory language disguised as jokes. I was uncomfortable most of the time I worked there.
