Pros
Good values but difficult politics. All academia has this issue and FAU is the best I have see so far in this matter. The pay for professional and admin staff seems to be all over the place (low) leading to support staff turnover that makes everyone’s job so much harder in the end.
Cons
There’s a clear caste system between faculty and staff (even teaching staff) that is reflected in the underpaying of non-research employees.
