Pros
In addition to pay, your tuition is also covered (fees are not), and they will cover 80% of your health insurance costs per semester.
Cons
Pay does not go very far in South Florida; however, it is possible to make it work. Additionally, the university does not pay into unemployment insurance for GTAs. So, if you graduate without a job lined up, you will not qualify for unemployment. Save as much of an emergency fund as possible prior to graduation.
