Resident Assistant - Resident Assistant Florida State University Employee Review

Pros

Good benefits (base pay, dorm rent reduction, dining benefits) for relatively simple work

Cons

For males especially, the residents will generally ignore you. There's nothing you can do but try your best. It's also important to get along with your coworkers, but the applicants are generally all nice people anyway

Pros

Great benefits, excellent retirement options, generous leave, and strong job stability. The campus environment is welcoming, and there are opportunities for professional development and continuing education. The work is meaningful, and many departments foster a collaborative atmosphere with a good work-life balance.

Cons

Salaries can be lower than comparable positions in the private sector, and hiring, promotions, and other administrative processes can move slowly due to university policies. Budget constraints may affect raises and staffing, and parking can be challenging depending on your work location.
