Pros

I loved working at Flourcraft! It's one of my favorite jobs that I've ever had, all of the coworkers are really friendly, the customers are generally polite for a customer service/food industry job and the job itself is very fun. PROS: The work environment is really chill and friendly! The staff discount is amazing and makes the food way more affordable if you're gluten free. The tasks are easy and the training is very comprehensive so you know exactly what to do and how to do it (you basically are a barista, pastry deliverer, order taker and at the end of the day you put away and store the food).

Cons

The scheduling is weird- basically when you get a shift you're never guaranteed that time slot. Every week the schedule changes and even if you're promised a regular shift that isn't set in stone. I went on vacation for two weeks (something that I informed management of months in advance- when I got hired actually) and when I got back I was completely removed from the schedule and only called in for emergencies when they needed shifts covered. I would have preferred that they either fire me or not hire me in the first place so I could look for a more stable form of employment. I actually turned down several, better jobs because I liked the vibe of Flourcraft more. But I guess I should have taken those instead because not only did they pay more, have more prestige and look better on my resume but they also offered me a regular, set schedule. Allegedly the reason for the weird scheduling was they overhired? But then they kept on hiring even when I didn't have any shifts, so that made it even more confusing.

Pros

Free Lunch, that is literally the only upside.

Cons

Completely understaffed Wage not worth the work, tips do NOT make up Zero communication from management to staff Absolute Chaos. You are expected to completely give up your personal life at the drop of a dime for this job. With the understaffing, if someone is sick there is absolutely no one to cover. Calling in sick, having an emergency or god forbid taking a vacation is simply not an option (unless your one of the few favored by management) and you will be made to feel guilty about it. Things will happen on your days off that no one will tell you, and when you do whatever it is, you will get in trouble even when management failed to tell you. This job is a huge test of your mental health, and there is no room to “grow” or “move up” in any way, shape or form. Good luck.
