Pros
there's good pay, friendly coworkers, cool regulars, good food, and no insanely early mornings or late nights for servers. you will have fun working here!! i've made some very good friends through flower child, and a lot of days, it's fun to clock in and play waitress for a few hours. generally, management is going to have your back, and scheduling is generally very flexible. if you show your effort, there is opportunity for growth.
Cons
it's easy to feel overworked in this job, especially if you're constantly opening or closing day after day. there are weeks where i've worked 5 or 6 days and struggled to get more than 30 hours despite opening or closing each time i came in. management can be inconsistent and some of the people you'll deal with are incredibly entitled. during shift transition, the am servers will clock out without having cleaned or done any of their sidework, leaving it all for the pm shift to take care of along with the extensive closing duties. management will have favorites and will make cuts based on that, but i think that's unavoidable in this industry. if you decide to work here, don't let management squash you into a specific position. i got stuck with the register and i think i can count on two hands the number of times i worked shifts at positions outside of it, despite working at this establishment for a very long time.
