Pros

I recently came back to Fluxx after leaving for a year and have never felt better about the company and direction. The work is special. It is hard work, but it is important work. Not only is Fluxx providing a product, it is building a community across the philanthropic sector. I love going home knowing that I am helping to build something that promotes positive change. Not to mention, the people are incredible. It's a very open and non-judgmental environment that promotes individuality and acceptance. I am treated well and feel heard and valued. I laugh a lot at work, and the healthy snack scene is legit. What more do I need?

Cons

The work is challenging, and the hours can be challenging. (But, it is a startup, after all.) There is a lot of support, but you really do need to execute well on an individual level to thrive here. No one is necessarily going to solve the problem for you. Everyone needs to be problem solving at a high level and exercising creative thinking all of the time. You do need to have a bit of grit and an entrepreneurial spirit to be happy here.

Pros

Fluxx is a great company work for, it si one of the few places i have worked where the spirit of the company is closer to a nonprofit or mission based organization.

Cons

As they have taken on investment they have had to formalize porcesses which means it is not as much like a start up anymore. It is fully remote nut they do try to get everyone to knwo each other

Pros

100% remote work provides excellent flexibility. Truly mission-driven organization focused on making a positive impact for grant makers and the communities they serve. Unlimited PTO is a meaningful benefit when supported by your team. Flux attracts talented, intelligent people, so you're surrounded by strong peers who challenge and inspire you. CEO Christie genuinely cares about employees. She communicates openly, addresses difficult situations head-on, and creates a sense of transparency and compassion that starts at the top.

Cons

My experience was heavily impacted by my direct manager rather than the company itself. I worked under an authoritarian management style that emphasized control over coaching, which created an environment where it was difficult to ask questions, learn from mistakes, or build confidence. I often felt unsupported and lacked the clarity and guidance needed to succeed. While I can't speak for every team at Fluxx, my experience demonstrated how much a single manager can shape an employee's overall experience.
