Pros

You will work with some of the smartest, most caring people you'll ever meet. Every team has people who know what they're doing and are open to working together to get things done. Several projects are done by a collaboration of different sides who all work together and get stuff done. The work/life balance is fine and is helped by the company being fully remote. There's flexible PTO so no need to accrue and you're generally actually able to take that PTO. The health benefits are all fine and standard but you'll be paying a good chunk out of pocket for dependents. The work itself is decent enough and if you're looking for a foot in the door for tech, you'll find enough to get yourself familiar with different aspects of the tech space and how they work. It's a mature company but still in startup mode so you'll likely find it to be a good learning experience without too much corporate fluff in the way.

Cons

The company still being in startup mode is often a source of the downsides. Despite how long the company has existed, it constantly feels like there isn't enough people to do what needs to be done, not enough resources to hire/keep people or use better tools, and sales basically drives the entire company from top to bottom. Product decisions are made based on deals more than need even when leadership says they're looking at ways to add to the product for mass adoption. There were projects that just got stuck unreleased because leadership pulled resources for items that would get a deal signed or show to a prospect. It was better than before from what I understand but the product is showing it's age and competitors are starting to surpass Fluxx. It used to be the top choice but there's so many others now and others that are rapidly evolving while Fluxx drips products and focuses on buzz items over core updates. In addition to trying to attract bigger and bigger customers to get bigger deals, Fluxx continues to take on projects it is not ready for. The most recent was one that they've tried to do a few times, have not succeeded at, but pinned a lot of the company's success on. It's clear that chasing growth and profit is important for the top but the inability to execute is going to cause more problems that employees end up shouldering more than anyone making the decisions. Every company needs to make money to keep people employed and the lights on but it doesn't seem like leadership at Fluxx knows how they're going to grow without stumbling. It seems like chasing deals like they are without focus on the core product will just keep leading to bad, insupportable deals. Fluxx also took several strides toward embracing DEI but recently laid off both of the people who were leading that team and leadership is still very much not reflective of the diverse staff and customer base that Fluxx has. It's something to watch for but it feels a lot like the company is using it to look good while not actually seeming to follow up on it. Even with the council leads, it was unclear what the council was supposedly doing to advance DEI. It often felt like the actual mission was to get acquired again since things are stagnating and it's getting to be clear that it's all hands on deck to save the ship mode.

Pros

Fluxx is a great company work for, it si one of the few places i have worked where the spirit of the company is closer to a nonprofit or mission based organization.

Cons

As they have taken on investment they have had to formalize porcesses which means it is not as much like a start up anymore. It is fully remote nut they do try to get everyone to knwo each other

Pros

100% remote work provides excellent flexibility. Truly mission-driven organization focused on making a positive impact for grant makers and the communities they serve. Unlimited PTO is a meaningful benefit when supported by your team. Flux attracts talented, intelligent people, so you're surrounded by strong peers who challenge and inspire you. CEO Christie genuinely cares about employees. She communicates openly, addresses difficult situations head-on, and creates a sense of transparency and compassion that starts at the top.

Cons

My experience was heavily impacted by my direct manager rather than the company itself. I worked under an authoritarian management style that emphasized control over coaching, which created an environment where it was difficult to ask questions, learn from mistakes, or build confidence. I often felt unsupported and lacked the clarity and guidance needed to succeed. While I can't speak for every team at Fluxx, my experience demonstrated how much a single manager can shape an employee's overall experience.
