Pros

They were so flexible about my school hours. That is the thing I love most about Food Lion. It's a clean place to work. The employees are usually kind. Interesting interactions with customers. Vacation days/hours.

Cons

There can be some really rude customers. I receive no information on changes that are made. I have no idea what's going on most of the time and then I'll get in trouble when I do something wrong, when I was never told in the beginning. There is no communication. The pay is horrible. I work here for 2 years I was promoted to front end supervisor and I make 5 cents over minimum wage! We are expected to greet customers even when we are with a customer on register (I feel like this is so rude). We need to ask customers going through our line if they want to buy all these items. This is not only annoying for me, but it's annoying for the customer and it's very time consuming. Customers just want to get out of the line, if they wanted to buy snack cakes then they'd buy them, we don't need to ask them. Way too much is expected out of us for only making minimum wage.

Pros

They (management) can be reasonable at times, such as with your breaks and scheduling.

Cons

My current management isn't giving me enough hours to be even decently sustainable, yet they have open-shifts available that they could assign to anyone, so why not give those hours to people who are severely underscheduled? If you want your workers to work for you, treat them right and compensate them fairly, and stop expecting them to come in everytime you text them just because someone else called out, maybe you need to give the people who constantly call out less hours because they aren't being reliable, and you need to give more hours to the people who do come to work and get things done, because they've proven to be reliable and willing to come in on their assigned days.
