Pros

We have birthday parties for coworkers and its very often with lots of surprises! There is also a tv in the break room. (Edit: When you can use it, it is mainly there for false ambitions) Everyone in on the same page in the fact that we all dislike working at fsns, but it pays the bills just barely. We like taking shortcuts at this lab because we get to go home sooner. Alot of the medias are different however use almost identical ingredients so we can save time and money that way. Who needs standard operating procedures when our livestake is at hand they are for chumps.

Cons

I think that corporate and human resources determined that they can't prevent bad reviews so they have no other choice but to use outdated copu and pasting of typical HR rebuttals when replying to these reviews without addressing the problems at other labs like in amarillo texas and in southeast US labs. I personally think that if you are going to act like a Robot, they will eventually take your job in hr which will be good for food safety net services to actually have someone ( or something) who cares about issues other than preventing customers and those that apply from finding out how this company really operates. As far as the school reimbursement goes at food safety net services, you have to sign a contract saying that you will work at food safety net services for 2 years after you graduate or you will have the benefits taken away. I believe this to be because they are so desperate for bodies which is to be expected with the high rate of turnover at this lab and virtually across all of food safety net services labs. Also most of them do master's online which is worthless. Just ask those that got them. Online doesnt work for lab environments according to testimony that i personally have obtained from employees that work at food safety net services so don't reply with some mumbo jumbo about how it is false and untrue. You really can not do anything other than online anyway because at food safety net services your entire life should revolve around food safety net services and if you try to have a social life you will be reprimanded and punished and or put onto the chopping block. I guess this means if you enjoy working at food safety net services then plan on not having a life outside of work. You can get around this by being a favorite of corporate and only then you can leave on time everyday and go out drinking with your group of coworkers. In response to alot of reviews here, yes corporate does not care about the employee but only their profit margins. This is evident through what techs are paid and the prreviously mentioned extremely high cost of having "benefits" (health insurance) at food safety net services. You can work a full fourty hour work week and not really have enough money in your pocket for anything except for you and your partner's health insurance. Every few years, enough people threaten to quit so the CEO is forced to not raise premiums but it barely gets people to stay. Every time they end up quitting food safety net services anyway because of the way corporate runs separate labs. This location sucks. We have new management who corporate and human resources lied and said they have a masters degree but come to find out, they only have a bachelors and corporate is secretly putting them through a worthless online program even though their job title requires a masters or higher. I saw a review here earlier while scrolling through where the human resources reply said that the job descriptions were being updated so thats why we have a bachelor degree management member. I think this was another one of human resources lies just to get readers to think they are not lieing. I suppose that food safety net services is desperate for management to obey their secret ways of operating a business. We also have quality issues here locally to which many customers have complained and corporate had customers flown out to corporate in which corporate begged them to stay with food safety net services and gave them lower prices. Unfortunately for food safety net services, some of these customers saw through the lies and left, but many more don't know what really goes on in a daily basis. This lab specifically has some issues with employees missing work. Some people miss for days and weeks at a time and we are forced to compensate with longer hours. The only way to survive is to avoid standard operating procedures and take shortcuts. Management has moved here from other labs arnd are favorites of corporate due to the previously mentioned brown nosing. They give themselves the monday through friday shift while screwing everyone else over. I am pretty sure that I know the person that got fired in the amarillo lab. They were on tract to become a manager, but told human resources they they were not going to continue lieing to customers about results and not using standard operating procedures. They knew too much and did not involve themselves in the business of brown nosing. They actually helped our lab out in the past and almost the whole company knows what really happened anyway. So anyway that knew this person should read the previous reviews when they say not to talk to human resources about any complaints you have. They will not solve anything. Human resources has turned into a robot that repeats the same thing over and over when replying to these glassdoor reviews. They only care about their paycheck and do not want things to change at food safety net services. Human resources can say over and over that we are transparent to our customers but in reality customers are lied to everyday. It is the job of human resources to make the company look as good as possible with a tarp over the holes so we will continue to get the same responses. We have cameras at our lab but many of the techs just sit and play on their phones all day while myself and others are forced to compensate and not say anything because these people are friends and favorites of corporate. It is funny that alot of these reviews i am reading actually think that things will change then to only get told from human resources that their concerns were from years ago and not longer applicable when in reality the issues still exist and will continue to exist. This is another way that human resources is designed, to con people into believing their lies. Food safety net services has no control over these reviews and will say anything to deter customers and potential applicants that read these reviews. We all know that human resources is not our friend. Yes it already has been said numerous times already. Just move on and do not talk to them when they come to your lab. I never talk to them when they come here and I was never told to hush or get fired.

I was just at your lab yesterday - (I am not a robot) - I made myself available for all employees to include you/varied shifts. I have also sent an email to assist you and others as well, but you have not taken me up on my offer to assist. You are appreciated for all you do - to include traveling to other labs, but it would appear you are still not happy. You have my information, I have tried to reach out. Much of what you are saying in this post is completely false and you know that. I can only hope that you will allow me to help you, and in the end if FSNS is not for you, then lets discuss that as well. All the best to you. Bob Cox, SVP, HR

Pros

Some growth opportunities available depending on location / current lab needs.

Cons

Since it’s part of certified group, upper management does not understand the individual needs of each lab enough to effectively run things. Mandatory overtime at most locations. Not a lot of explanation of how to do certain things or why they are done. Poor wages and terrible health insurance.
