Pros
- Smart, friendly colleagues with passion for making a difference against climate change. Everyone is working towards the same goal and wants to help you if they can. The bar for excellence is really high, but it's inspiring to work with so many great people. - Exciting technology. Working in the relatively young industry of long-duration energy storage puts you on the forefront of many different fields. At Form, you get to work on new problems, find clever solutions to old ones, and move world-changing technology forward. - Fast-paced work environment and rapid growth. You have the opportunity to go deep on interesting technical topics, but the needs of Form are rapidly evolving so you also get to do lots of different things. No week is ever the same! - Good benefits. Form contributes generously to the employee health plan; fulltime employees get unlimited PTO. During the pandemic, we've had several mental health days and have been encouraged to take time to stay healthy. Additionally, Form has thorough, safe COVID practices for all onsite employees. - Sincere focus on increasing diversity through equitable hiring practices. Form has made sustained efforts to improve diversity at the company so that it doesn't fit the typical "start-up" model. There is strong representation of women at the company and a growing number of employees diverse on other axes as well.
Cons
- Work-life balance. Working with other high achievers is incredible but also leads many into working long hours, particularly because most employees are young professionals relatively early in their careers. Be willing to set your boundaries and stick to them! - Rapid growth. It's exciting to grow, but lots of change means you have to stay on top of new processes and be willing to drop old ones very quickly, which can be a lot to manage along with your regular responsibilities. Stay willing to change and grow if you join! - Young managers. Because the company is composed mainly of young professionals, managers have widely varying degrees of experience. Sometimes details fall through the cracks as a result.
