Pros

I was previously a full time nanny which was so fun but I got burnt out when potty training started. I loved working with the kids though! I found the job at Foss and it is perfect if you want to work with kids without the added stress of potty training them! They are flexible with scheduling! They'll work with your day to day schedule and find shifts that work for you. I have 2 other jobs and am able to work around those. I'm a youth leader at my church which is volunteer work and I clean an office building once a week. If you're just looking for another part time job for an extra income this is a great option especially if you enjoy working with kids! Foss has an incredible work environment everyone is so positive and willing to help out wherever they are needed. I took some swimming lessons as a kid and I have learned more from working at foss than I ever did from my swim lessons at the YMCA. There are many opportunities for promotions and if you want some out of water shifts you can get trained to work in the office. My coworkers are fantastic as is the management team and the work environment is positive and fun! This is definitely the best job and work environment I've ever had or worked in!

Cons

The only downsides I can think of are the damage to your hair and skin from the chlorine. You will have to get your hair wet there is no way around it! Just focus on having fun with your students and keeping them on task! I apply lotion at least once a week in the winter months to keep my skin healthy and then do it as needed in the warmer months. Before I get in the pool I get my hair wet, put conditioner in and leave it in then tie it up in a bun. This helps prevent my hair from absorbing as much chlorine. You should also rinse off before getting in the pool to prevent your skin from absorbing as much chlorine it really does make a difference! Other than those two things I can't think of any other downsides of working at Foss Swim School!

Pros

Gives you space to really develop yourself skills if this is something you want to do.

Cons

It has become corporate and money driven. The bottom line is becoming more important than families. Things feel chaotic and corporate doesn’t communicate well. Management is constantly over worked and underplayed. There is no way to accomplish all of the new mandates corporate has implemented in the last few years
