Pros

Fast and smooth hiring process: HR conducts a very smooth and fast hiring process. I completed a phone interview, participated in an in-person mock lesson within a week, and signed a contract within two weeks of the initial contact. FPCS HR made my transition from my previous position very effortless, and even covered almost all the financial aspects of it. Compensation: Friendship PCS offers top-tier remuneration compared to other districts across the country. Teachers are compensated well above many nearby districts and have multiple surprise bonuses throughout the year. The school also provides numerous internal opportunities to earn additional income through the wide variety of programs offered to students. Overall, teachers are highly valued and appreciated by the leadership team. Small class sizes: The teacher-student ratio is manageable and allows for more individualized support for students. In larger classes, the district adds additional adults to the room to increase access to teaching and learning.

Cons

Work-life balance: Friendship PCS mostly serves an underserved community with a large proportion of at-risk students. Scholars often come with significant academic and emotional gaps. As a result, it is not uncommon for teachers to have heavier workloads and work longer days.
