- I hope this is read by FullStory with an open mind and not from a defensive place as I have tried my best to be thoughtful and fair. Our HR preaches that Glassdoor is for the disgruntled to go complain, but this is not the case. Constructive reviews on here are in part because employees are not being heard. All constructive feedback I have read on here resonates as an honest reflection of our culture.
- FullStory used to be the most incredible product with talented, honest, empathetic leadership, and focused on watch words. There are now architectural problems with the company that individual contributors cannot fix. Our CEO has been informed of friction years ago and has taken no action, and my hope is that he starts to make big moves to invest in long-term gains, knowing short term loss could happen as a result of leadership change.
- As the industry has evolved, the relationship with sales (especially leadership) has become hostile. You cannot trust anyone, and they will come throw you under the bus to defend themselves in a heartbeat. I have experienced sexist behavior more at FullStory than any other role I have had in tech. The sales leaders are condescending, dishonest, and defensive - they treat every employee like an assistant. For a company who has watch words of empathy and trust, it's pure hypocrisy.
- FullStory as a company has had 4 different RIFs since I have been here. This company is not doing well, so if you join, do so because you enjoy a challenge and enjoy turning things around, not because you want security. The product is trying to be everything to everyone, playing catch up with competitors, and they haven't figured out their 'niche' (do we want to be the most trustworthy product? do we want to be the best mobile app digital experience tool? do we want to have the best customer service and experience in the industry?)
- We went through a re-org as an attempt to solve this problem, but it more-so highlighted how disconnected our leadership is as it solved nothing and created more problems. It happened so quickly, and leadership left folks on the front lines to figure it out themselves. I am still hopeful that there will be positive change as a result once folks acclimate, but it will require more changes and solutions to be coupled with it (such as a change in sales leadership, re-enforcement of the new responsibilities, and alignment in solving the problems instead of finger pointing).
- Our investments seem to be experiments rather than data driven, informed decisions (the irony, considering we are data analytics). We've lost the most amazing talent already in leadership, and I am afraid we will lose more if our C-levels don't make big changes very soon.
- We need honest, fearless, intelligent and transparent leadership. There are so many talented, hard working people waiting for someone to catalyze positive movement and make an impact. Change is very possible, but we need good people to make it happen.
