As many reviews here say, management is a huge problem. On the engineering side they are mostly people who were probably great engineers but don't understand basic leadership. They lead with ego and fear. Very likely to throw you under the bus or blame their team for their mistakes. The product is failing as their competitors pull further and further ahead while they argue over the most pointless things to appear like the smartest in the room. If you want to argue about variable naming and which of these two nearly identical designs is better, this is your place. If you want to build cool stuff and actually deliver value to someone, then expect to be shut down constantly. One of the wildest experiences in my career was watching a 4th round of layoffs happen in my 2 years, asking in a meeting if we should find a way to prioritize customer feedback, then being told we needed to re-write a module that worked and had just been rewritten the last year because "we needed to standardize it". When I asked why we would prioritize that over features: "Maybe you should go take a basic class in code design" I was told.
