Pros

The people in FUNKO are some of the best people I have worked with... My experiences with the Production Team are some of my fondest. Because of the huge workloads and the unrealistic demands from management, the team learned to support one another.

Cons

Unfortunately, while FUNKO has some of the best people on their respective teams, FUNKO as a corporation does not invest in its people. Workloads were incredibly heavy against insane timelines...often at the expense of the mental health of the employees. Moreover, compensation for the amount of work being done is far below the national standard. More so if you're female. There was a HUGE difference in what the female employees were being paid versus male employees. Additionally, the politics in the working environment were some of the worst that I have encountered. Employees were often overlooked for promotions regardless of accomplishment or abilities. If an employee vocalized an opinion that did not align with upper management (regardless of how constructive that opinion was conveyed, that employee would find him/herself a target for upper management.

Pros

The team you get to work with and grow with is the best part of the job. If you’re into the product, the employee discount is solid I suppose.

Cons

Near zero chance for career growth with this company, within the retail store itself or moving up to corporate. The company has been subject to frequent layoffs and “restructuring”. The retail store has had three different general managers (so far). There are associates that have been part time for years, yet working full time hours, receiving no benefits. The retail store doesn’t utilize its workers properly. Good, solid workers have jumped ship completely due to burnout, being stepped on, management refusing to correct toxic workplace behavior, and selective coaching. You’re promised the opportunity to grow, but denied the development to make that a reality.
