Pros

-Dedicated, crazy smart colleagues who go above & beyond who share common interests in pop culture -Interesting, fun product -Lots of potential. Business is booming, famous product and licenses, millions of fans worldwide

Cons

-Almost every person I work with is experiencing burnout -Zero transparency from executive leadership and no clear strategy -Extremely siloed organization -Toxic environment - Cliquey VP's often fight with each other and make decisions based on whether or not they like the requestor, not whether or not the request or plan is best for business, with zero accountability -Virtually zero diversity. Only two women and no POC on executive team and only a handful (less than 5) of visible minorities in senior management. Regular microaggressions from both management and employees -HR, training and employee development are an afterthought. They just started doing employee reviews in 2021. Clearly zero sexual harassment or racial sensitivity training -No commitment to WFH or remote work due to concerns about culture and productivity despite employees producing the best year in company history WHILE WORKING FROM HOME!!! -Not a lot of career advancement opportunities. Many empty promises -No perks outside of employee discount

Pros

The team you get to work with and grow with is the best part of the job. If you’re into the product, the employee discount is solid I suppose.

Cons

Near zero chance for career growth with this company, within the retail store itself or moving up to corporate. The company has been subject to frequent layoffs and “restructuring”. The retail store has had three different general managers (so far). There are associates that have been part time for years, yet working full time hours, receiving no benefits. The retail store doesn’t utilize its workers properly. Good, solid workers have jumped ship completely due to burnout, being stepped on, management refusing to correct toxic workplace behavior, and selective coaching. You’re promised the opportunity to grow, but denied the development to make that a reality.
