Custom Protection Officer - Custom Protection Officer G4S Secure Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Pay as a Custom Protection Officer (CPO) is slightly above average for typical security jobs, you just have to have prior military, law enforcement, or corrections experience. Local Branch Office has realistic view of overtime, i.e. it is to be avoided if at all possible but there are times when it can't be avoided and you can grab as much as you want while it is available. If assigned to an armed detail/post, weapon and duty belt are issued to you. Also, training for Level III "Guard Card" is provided, free of charge.

Cons

Pay during training (pre-service, site OJT) is paid, but at the minimum wage rate. Dealing with the branch office folks can be difficult. They lose paperwork, miscalculate payroll and take their time issuing retro pay, and often give inconsistent or misleading information. The people at the Office also want info/documents from you NOW but when you need something from them, they take their own sweet time getting back to you...that is if they ever get back to you as promised.
