Pros
Hands down the culture is inspiring. This is a company that cares deeply about their employees. I have been witness to several decisions that would not fly in a public company because of the costs. However, because of the Gallo family, the company has first looked at employee impact at every turn. Family values trickle all the way down -- when I had a family medical issue back home in the midwest, they were very encouraging and accommodating and over the course of 4 months, I worked 8 weeks remotely so I could spend time with my family. The people here are great! I work with some very smart and creative individuals who never cease to amaze me and allows me to learn something new every day. The access to senior leaders is impressive -- not only do I get to see decisions being made, I get to be at the table, taking part in making those decisions -- and this was only 3 months after I started with Gallo. The projects and work is challenging, but you don't need to work long hours to make an impression or prove yourself. Leaders recognize solid work regardless of your title or role. Each person really has an opportunity to move up if they desire -- not by working longer hours, but by working harder and producing top tier quality work. Work life Balance is great, and only rarely is the expectation to work an inordinate number of hours. The company runs a shuttle bus with WiFi from Dublin & Livermore, so it makes it easy to live closer to SF Bay. Also remote work at least once a week is a great option to lessen the impact of a commute. All in all, an excellent place to work, grow your career, and learn about wine and the industry!
Cons
Only con I can think of is that its in the Central Valley, but the bus option to the East Bay does help.
