Pros

People are nice, job can be interesting depending on the role

Cons

Low pay for the job and industry ($73.5k). I expected GE to offer a lot more ($85K+) after reading reviews and speaking with current GE employees who even told me how much they were making and the minimum I should be making was $85k-$95k. Salary is based on Cincinnati, OH COL even though the job is located in Evendale, OH which is about 20-30min away. Evendale is very expensive whereas Cincinnati is very cheap. Also, no clear career progression and salary increases. Current friends who have worked at GE for many years have still struggled to get promotions and rely on ~2% salary increases, not even enough to keep up with inflation or the salaries of new grads at different companies. Their low salary increases could be a reason they don't pay new grads more because they don't want to pay existing employees less so they underpay for the market. Overall, it seems like if you join GE, just be prepared to leave for a different company after a few years for more competitive pay.
