GE and the digital transition - Senior Technical Program Manager GE Employee Review

GE is in the middle of a very painful transition on two fronts. First, the sales mentality that has pervaded for years has created a culture of 'No one fails.' This doesn't meant that no one fails - it means that we don't address failures and allow them to continue on by just rebranding them as some kind of alternative success. Second, GE knows that it must become a digital company to stay relevant in the future and this transition has been very painful. Instead of bringing in new leaders to make us digital, GE has relied on their legacy managers to just try and to think and behave differently. Needless to say, the company has not changed enough in the right ways.
